A token on the kit.
A rubberised magnetic QR token attached to gym equipment. A visible place to begin, right beside the machine you want to use.
The idea is simple: put a magnetic QR token on the machine, and put gym-specific guidance one scan away.
01 / The member idea
You came to train.
Not hunt for the right video.
A new gym. An unfamiliar machine. That moment when you’re ready to start, but not quite sure how. GymTap’s idea is to connect the equipment in front of you to guidance made for that gym.
One small physical starting point, with a bigger personal-training vision behind it.

Oliver’s concept includes filming gym-specific training videos. A scan could connect a member to the relevant guide, instead of another general exercise search.
Personal tracking through an app or web subscription is part of the bigger idea. The first pilot would focus on guidance; the tracker is not a live feature.
First conversations,
close to home.
04 / The person behind the idea
GymTap is the pre-launch concept of Oliver Nixon, a personal trainer at Kirklees Active Leisure. His intended starting point is local: Kirklees and Huddersfield.
The vision brings together magnetic QR tokens, videos filmed for individual gyms and personal session tracking. The immediate ambition is simpler: give the idea a clear shape, and explore it with a gym before building it all.
