02 / The first-scan concept

Illustrative preview · not live

One machine.
One useful scan.

Before building a whole tracking platform, the first step could be much smaller: an approved guide on selected equipment, with a way to learn from the people who use it.

What a first pilot could feel like

01Scan selected equipment

With the gym’s permission, a token on an agreed machine would lead to that machine’s page. Start with a small, supervised trial—not every piece of equipment at once.

02Find a guide with context

A short, approved video or guide could explain the equipment in front of you. Oliver would supply or approve the content with the gym, keeping the guidance relevant to that setting.

03Say what helped

An optional, opt-in feedback step could ask what felt clearer and what was missing. That would give Oliver and the gym something useful to learn from before deciding what to build next.

A guide. Not a replacement for a trainer.

Supporting information should sit alongside a gym’s induction and staff advice. If a member is unsure, the next step should still be to ask the gym team.

SCANGUIDEFEEDBACK
Static concept, not a live scan page or app. Equipment and content would be agreed with a willing gym. Suitable tokens, approved guidance and agreed member data handling would be needed before a real trial.

Start small.
Make it useful.

The best first machine might be the one your members ask about most.

If you run a gym in Kirklees or Huddersfield, a conversation with Oliver can start there. GymTap is being shaped around your equipment and gym-specific guidance, rather than a one-size-fits-all video library.

Your gym sets the context.Any trial would need your say on placement, content and what a member sees.

Learn before adding more.A focused test could help reveal what members actually find useful before a larger build.

A conversation, not a subscription sign-up.

The longer-term model

Monthly subscriptions for gyms, with personal tracking planned for members. Pricing and inclusions are still to be decided.

Good questions.
Straight answers.

It’s early days. Here’s what’s planned, and what still needs to be decided.

Is GymTap available now?

GymTap is pre-launch. The token, scan experience and personal tracker described here are concepts, not a live product offering. You can speak directly with Oliver about the idea or a possible gym pilot.

Would I need to download an app?

The tracker technology is still open: it could be an app or a web experience. The illustrative pilot shown here focuses on reaching a useful guide from a QR scan, not downloading or using a live tracking app.

Who would approve the guidance?

Oliver’s concept includes filming gym-specific videos. Any real pilot would need suitable guidance approved by Oliver and an authorised gym contact, along with permission for token placement. A guide should support—not replace—a gym induction or advice from the gym team.
